Being a Coach
When I entered into the online internet marketing business I decided that I wanted to introduce myself to the world as a “business coach”. I thought that title had a nice ring to it..Kind of catchy. I observed the activity that existed on line. I could see that the greatest value I could offer to individuals was solutions. People online were pushing to achieve success in their personal and business endeavors. They sought products, services, and counsel to nurture them along the way. There are many individuals that exist online today that consider themselves coaches or consultants. Some have amassed great fortunes at the expense of others with their self-proclaimed titles, but they have left the greater community still starving. Some have proven to be “the real deal” as they have changed and impacted the lives of others. They have successfully transitioned people to the success that they desire. I decided that I must first earn the right to make a statement of fact that I have the knowledge base in an area of expertise that could prove to be beneficial in someones life. I know that my life is of purpose. I know that I am Blessed to Be a Blessing. I have positioned myself to be accessible to those that seek my wisdom in the areas that I may provide resourceful value to assist them in their endeavors.
What is a coach?
A coach can be many things to many different people. A coach is a teacher, a
mentor, a role model, sometimes a friend and confidant.
Most of all, a coach must be positive.
The Act of Coaching
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Coaching is a training or development process via which an individual is supported while achieving a specific personal or professional competence result or goal. The individual receiving coaching may be referred to as coachee. Occasionally, the term coaching may be applied to an informal relationship between two individuals where one has greater experience and expertise than the other and offers advice and guidance as the other goes through a learning process, but coaching differs from mentoring by focusing upon competence specifics, as opposed to general overall development.
Some coaches use a style in which they ask questions and offer opportunities that will challenge the coachee to find answers from within him/herself. This facilitates the learner to discover answers and new ways of being based on their values, preferences and unique perspective.
I have discovered it is the responsibility of a coach to continue to elevate their knowledge base so that they can competitively provide the highest offering to their clients. The expansion of their knowledge base is accomplished by the furthering of their education in their area of offering. It is also accomplished through practical working experiences. We often learn as we do, then we teach. A coach may find themselves being coached through experiences. The coach often learns as they coach.
An effective coach is passionate about their offering. They like what they do. They take delight in sharing with others. They care about the success that others achieve from their knowledge base.
There are GREAT coaches in the world today…………The Great coaches have earned their stripes.
